Edit Pictures

Any editing for exposure, focus, touchup or resizing should be done first using graphics editing software. This step is optional and requires practice but can improve the final photos. Photos will normally have a file extension of jpeg. File types that can be transferred include jpeg, jpg, gif, png and pdf. If the image files are not in one of these formats, they must be converted first before transfer.

You may also want to downsize your photos to the maximum expected screen size using a graphics program . This is typically 1280x1024 pixels up to a maximum of 1800x1800 pixels for downloading to make prints. You can transfer larger files such as those from a new megapixel camera without resizing, but the upload time will be longer with no improvement in displayed images. For more information on resizing, click the Help link on the menu, proceed to Tech Tips, then continue to Pixel Diet-Photo Resizing. Once you have done your final edits save all your finished images in one folder for easy access.
